...and the two shall become one
God wants to speak to you before and after you say "I do"
Mark 10:8 (GW)
Is Pre-marital Counseling for you?
Yes it’s for all couples who plan on getting married.
Pre-marital counseling (PMC) is as important as the license that binds you together, it’s establishes the foundation and target areas that could later cause undue stress. Pre-marital counseling does not mean that there are already problems it teaches couples how to handle if any arises. Through (PMC) couples will gain a more depth understanding of marriage, and it’s and outs. PMC is a third party mediation tool used for asking questions that are frequently avoided. Couples will learn the art of communication, being that communication is the most complex ingredient in a marriage.
Our Methodology
All PMC sessions are confidential, will never become public information.
Future husbands and wives come together for a minimum of three sessions, they are both given packets in which they fill out separately. During each session the information in the packets will be discussed as well as others that are deemed necessary for each individual couple. The future husband and future wife each have a voice that is encouraged to be heard. Both are allowed to express their innermost feelings without bias opinions toward either.
Who does the Pre-marital Counseling?
PMC is always administered by both Pastor Michael & Pastor Carolyn Byrd. There are no separate sessions in which one Pastor will give advice without the other present. It is important to note that in PMC we value the role of the man and the woman, therefore a couple receives balanced advice.
The atmosphere is always comfortable and non intrusive, assuring that both the future husband and future wife is at ease.
With Pastor Michael being a man, husband, father and leader he advises through the wisdom of God, and has a very unique way speaking to the inner man to empower and equip him for marriage.
With Pastor Carolyn being a woman, wife, mother and leader she too advise s through the wisdom of God as she understands the emotions of a woman as well as the unique qualities a woman has and needs in order to embrace becoming a wife.
